The power of presence

We’ve all seen people who stand up to speak and simply fill the room with their presence.  You’ve probably also seen people that can’t keep the audience’s attention for more than a couple of minutes.  So how do you create ‘presence’?

It’s not to do with an Armani suit and a great dentist (although neither will do you any harm at all), it’s not to do with the content of your presentation (although that needs to be pretty good in order to keep people interested and, without a strong message, people only remember that you looked good!).  It’s not even to do with confidence, although people with presence have plenty of that as a rule.

Presence is to do with passion!  If you have a message that excites you and about which you have strong beliefs, that will come across.  You’ll need confidence, a great image and a polished message too – and you’ll be truly memorable.

Great speakers stand out – there are lots of good ones about, but only a few that are really great.  You’ll need to tick all the boxes if you really want to join the top echelon.
